What is one of the biggest factors to consider when you getting ready to have a pool built ?

DO your homework- make sure you find out a-z about the pool you're having installed. Know the type of structure, type of pump, pump warranty ,expected energy usage, water waste, chemical usage, liner thickness, concrete warranty, leak warranty, backfill material, compaction procedure and get it all in writing- Most customers are not pool educated and a good salesman can sell you anything unless you have enough knowledge about pools to know what questions to ask. Also , get some references- the last 3 or 4 customers or even some from previous years to find out if those customers have had any problems - Owning a pool can be a lifetime of joy - if its done right from the beginning.

Strength: Desjoyaux pool structures are built to last a lifetime and beyond. The polythylene casing (structure) has built-in panels that are filled with concrete and rebar. That combination forms an active, self-supporting wall structure for the ultimate in strength and durability. Why is the pump and filtration system second to none?

The pump is a two-speed system which operates on only 2.3 amps at low speed, which is the normal daily speed. It will circulate approx 120 gallons of water per minute, compared to a conventional system’s 30 to 40 gallons per minute. It can also operate on high speed (7.6 amps) at the touch of a button (used for hydrotherapy resistance swimming and impact-free exercise) and circulate 180 gallons per minute. Traditional pool pumps operate on 10 to 15 amps and must run continuously to keep the pool clean. An article in Aqua Magazine(November 2009) issue stated that a conventional pool pump is the 3rd highest electrical usage item behind AC system and hot water heater. The Desjoyaux pump will save you up to 80% on your electric bill while running that same amount of time and circulate 3-4 times the water per day.
The Desjoyaux filtering system is NOT a sand filter system. This means you’ll never need to replace sand or backwash every few days as with every other type of pool built that use the sand filter sytem of filtration. That means no wasted water (100-300 gallons per treated cycle) and chemicals, once again saving you money ! Easy to clean filters (reusable) are readily accessible at your pool filtration unit . A few minutes is all it takes to remove, clean your filters and put them back in place. it doesnt get any more simple than this.

What other benefits do I receive with the Desjoyaux system?
The area surrounding the pool structure (two-foot overdig) is backfilled with clean rock instead of the dirt that is removed during the pool digging process. This creates a solid foundation on which the surrounding concrete deck will sit, which in turn eliminates the premature failure of most pool decks because of settling. Conventional pools are usually backfilled with dirt, which cannot be compacted properly due to the poor integrity of wall structures used in most pool construction. We eliminate this problem by using clean rock (sea ballast) which provides long-lasting stability and a pool deck that will not settle and come apart. We also use rebar and wire in our pool decks –we give a five-year warranty on our concrete decks against any failures except minor cracking(which is a normal occurence in concrete)! I have a conventional sand filter pool system. Can it be retrofitted to a Desjoyaux Pools of Arkansas system?

What about fiberglass or concrete pools?

all pools built are only as good as the person building the pool- if an installer cares about quality, chances are you will have a long lasting troublefree pool. If he cuts corners or simply dont care once he has your money then you may end up with a nightmare for a long time-

What about liners and covers?

many pool owners i talk to have been telling me they are getting at most 3-6 years out of their liners(some even less)- this is unacceptable- you should expect 10 or more years out of a quality liner- therin lies one of the problems associated with liners-inferior quality - our liners,made by Vynall ,are as quality as it gets- (see http://www.vynall.com )for liner and cover choices.

Another problem with liners is construction related-a poor fitting liner may causes all sorts of problems. Our Liners are custom made to the exact measurements after the pool structure and pool crete has been completed. We will never have a liner pre made as some kit pools tend to have

The other problem associated with liners is mostly caused by homeowners that do not maintain their pool chemicals correctly .
